Los Tigres del Norte was formed in 1969 in Monterrey, Mexico, by brothers Jorge and Raúl Hernández, along with their cousins, Mario and Enrique Quintero. The group's early sound was rooted in traditional norteño music, with a focus on accordion-driven melodies and heartfelt lyrics.
Los Tigres continue to release new music and tour extensively, now as elder statesmen of the genre.
They are not called "Los Ídolos del Pueblo" (The People’s Idols) for nothing. Listening through their discography is a journey through the evolution of culture, from traditional ballads to the controversial heyday of the "Narco-corrido."
