Walk through any izakaya on a Monday night, and every screen is showing a Variety Show (Baraeti). These are not like American panel shows. A typical Japanese variety show features 10-15 celebrities sitting in a row, watching a VTR (videotape recording). They do not tell jokes; they react to situations.
The Japanese entertainment industry and culture are rich and diverse, reflecting the country's unique blend of traditional and modern elements. From traditional theater forms like Kabuki and Noh to modern phenomena like J-Pop and anime, Japan's entertainment industry has something to offer for every interest and taste.
