Use a simple Arduino sketch to test the connection. The most basic test is sending "AT" and receiving "OK".
: Right-click the module in your workspace, select "Edit Properties," and browse for the GSM library hex file
Your Proteus simulation thinks it is talking to a real SIM800L.
If you need better simulation, consider using and a terminal emulator (e.g., PuTTY, RealTerm). Alternatively, look into ESP8266-based virtual GSM simulators or Wireshark + real module for network debugging.
