These were the stability patches. They fixed the most egregious loading hangs and added basic support for the first Kombat Pack. The file sizes were small (200–400 MB each), but they taught the homebrew scene how NetherRealm packaged updates: as delta patches, meaning you needed each previous one.

The new stages (Retrocade, Kronika’s Keep) are visually simpler but run smoother in handheld mode. Plus, you unlock the "Friendship" moves—a hilarious counterpoint to Fatalities.
