The Edirol Hyper Canvas is no longer supported by Edirol (now part of Roland), and the company has discontinued its development and sales. However, the software remains compatible with various 64-bit operating systems and can still be used with modern DAWs (digital audio workstations).

Released as a software version of Roland's high-quality sound modules, the Hyper Canvas features 256 preset sounds and nine drum sets. It was engineered to deliver 128-voice polyphony across 16 multi-timbral parts, making it an all-in-one workstation for sketching out ideas or creating full arrangements with a polished, ROMpler-style aesthetic. Its 32-bit floating-point signal processing ensured high-fidelity output for its time, but its architecture eventually fell behind as the industry shifted to 64-bit systems.
